Custom tape is not only a logo printed on a roll. For a packaging buyer, it is a sealing material, a brand display surface, and part of the packing cost. Before ordering, confirm the tape material, width, length, thickness, adhesive, print color, logo direction, repeat distance, core size, carton packing method, and whether a printed sample is required.

For most carton sealing work, common widths are 48 mm, 50 mm, 60 mm, and 72 mm. Roll length often ranges from 50 m to 100 m for hand use, while machine rolls can be much longer. Thickness should match carton weight and shipping distance. A light ecommerce parcel may use a thinner tape, while export cartons and heavier master cartons usually need stronger film and adhesive.

One-time purchase quantity should be based on monthly carton usage, expected repeat orders, storage space, and whether the design may change soon. If this is a new brand design, start with a moderate trial quantity after sample approval. If the artwork, carton size, and monthly order volume are stable, buying a larger batch can reduce unit cost, printing setup cost, and freight cost per roll.

  • Small trial order: useful for new artwork, seasonal campaigns, and market testing.
  • Medium purchase: suitable when monthly parcel volume is stable but design changes are still possible.
  • Bulk purchase: best for mature SKUs, repeat carton sealing, distributors, and warehouse use.
